A Domain Name is a web address that makes it easy to get to different area of the World Wide Web. It usually consists of 3 main parts:
- Sub Domain
- Typically (www), but can be changed to access more specific parts of a Domain.
- Domain Name
- Typically the Brand Name (Ex. Google)
- Domain Extension
- Typically (.com), but can be changed
These 3 parts combined make up the most basic type of Domain Name. This address is used by the universal DNS (Domain Name System) which “translates” the “human readable” version of the domain space into the computer representation (IP Address) of that same web space.Posted on
